The wild winter weather is well and truly here. In a week dominated by Met Office warnings across the UK, parts of Scotland have been hammered by a big freeze.
A 51-hour snow and ice alert for the entire north of Scotland finally ends tonight, November 20, at 9pm. Schools have been closed across the Highlands and Aberdeenshire, while the white stuff is causing major delays on roads and rails.
But just today the Met Office issued two more warnings for ice, with the mercury predicted to plunge as low as -12C in some areas. Aberdeenshire, the Highlands, and the Northern Isles are again facing a yellow alert, as is a large section of the Borders.
These new warnings run through most of Friday morning, November 21. And although the national forecaste
