Dibrugarh: Assam Water Resources Minister Pijush Hazarika attended the inaugural ceremony of the Poi Pee Mau Tai festival in Namsai, Arunachal Pradesh, on Thursday as the chief guest. The three-day celebration marks the Tai Khamti New Year and remains one of the most significant and cherished festivals of the Tai Khamti community. Organised by the Tai Khamti Development Society, the event is being held at the Poi Pee Mau Ground in Namsai, where traditional customs, colourful dances and community rituals have brought the entire area to life.
The ceremony witnessed the presence of several prominent leaders, including Arunachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein, Cultural Affairs Minister Dasanglu Pul, Dambuk MLA Puinnyo Apum and Assam’s Sad
