Filmmaker magazine, the publication produced by The Gotham Film & Media Institute, is set to be rebooted and reimagined under the editorial direction of Mike Hogan, the former executive digital director of Vanity Fair , who left the publication earlier this year.
Gotham announced Hogan’s hiring Thursday, adding that he will hire a content director for Filmmaker , oversee a brand redesign and refresh, expand the publication’s digital and social footprint, and launch an events strategy around the publication. Hogan “will ensure Filmmaker maintains its authority as a leading voice in independent film while building stronger connections between the magazine, The Gotham’s broader programs, and the independent storytelling community,” the organization said.
