President Donald Trump has been briefed on a Russia-Ukraine peace plan worked up by his envoy Steven Witkoff and supports it, according to a senior U.S. official.
The plan, which would reportedly entail Ukraine ceding land to Russia and capping the size and capability of its military, is under consideration by Kyiv.
The official, who spoke on condition of anonymity to reveal details of the closed-door, high-stakes discussions, said Mr. Witkoff has been working on the plan for the past month with input from both Russia and Ukraine.
