Word on the street is that newly-weds are now planning two vacations to celebrate their marriage: a “minimoon”, a quick post-wedding getaway, and a long-haul “big-moon” a few months down the line when couples can truly sink into the experience.

While it's true that millennials and Gen Z are always looking for a reason to travel, this two-step post-marriage holiday format gives couples a chance to recover after the wedding festivities without taking long leaves or managing complex logistics.

According to the latest honeymoon report by travel platform Thrillophilia, short, experience-driven trips are up by 18 per cent Year-on-Year, making it one of the most significant shifts in how couples are celebrating their first year together.
