ANTIOCH — A man suspected in a Tuesday morning assault that left a man hospitalized in critical condition has been arrested, police said Thursday.
The altercation happened about 2:45 a.m. in the area of Lone Tree Way and W. Tregallas Road. A victim who was down when officers arrived remained in critical condition at a hospital Thursday.
In a statement, Lt. Bill Whitaker said police arrested Brandon Rowlett, 34, an unhoused man from Antioch, on suspicion of attempted homicide. He remained in custody at the West County Detention Facility in Richmond on Thursday in lieu of $500,000.
Police arrested Rowlett about 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Whitaker said. Police have not said what they suspect the motive in the attack to be, nor whether the two men knew each other.
