Holly Watson will burst into tears if she makes WA racing history on Saturday.

The flame-haired jockey finished second aboard Comfort Me in last year’s Railway Stakes, narrowly missing the chance to become the first female to win WA’s premier thoroughbred feature.

The rising star of WA racing is riding the nine-year-old again in Saturday’s $1.5 million Group 1 race at Ascot.

“He doesn’t know he’s nine years old… he is an absolute beauty,” Watson said of her Railway mount.

“This is the best prep we’ve had since I’ve been riding him.

“I was even just so thrilled that I ran second last year that I nearly cried. If he could win, I think I’d just burst out in tears and if he could go out with a bang, it would be just unreal.”
