Reports of a possible weapon on campus prompted South Plantation High School to briefly lock down on Thursday, police said

The Plantation Police Department posted about the lockdown on social media around 1:15 p.m., saying there was no threat, just a report of a weapon on campus.

Officers at the scene searched while the school was locked down.

In a 2:15 p.m. update shared on X , Plantation Police said a student found a spent shell casing, which prompted the report of a weapon on campus. After further investigation, police found there to be no weapons on campus and the lockdown has since been lifted.
