North Carolina's Attorney General Jeff Jackson and eight other states have reached a $7 million settlement with Greystar, the state's largest landlord, over allegations they used artificial intelligence to illegally raise rents. As part of the deal, Greystar must stop using sensitive competitor data to set prices and will be monitored for compliance. Jackson said this ensures fairer rent for more than 25,000 North Carolina tenants.
