LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - A free program for kids in Louisville is expanding its doors and its reach. For more than ten years, Amped has been empowering people through music and technology. Now, the organization has celebrated a milestone for the West Louisville community.

From a rendering to reality, Amped started as a nonprofit with the CEO and founders’ son’s love of music. It has continued to grow in West Louisville with a new building at 1701 West Market Street.

The new Amped Technology and Learning Center is three stories high with meeting rooms, classrooms, and offices. It also will house the first permanent location for the Melanaire Market, small boutique for black-owned vendors to sell their products.
