The Roper Mountain Science Center's iconic star will go dark this holiday season.
"It's going to be dark this year, unfortunately, but sometimes you have to sacrifice for something better in the future," Thomas Riddle, assistant director of the Roper Mountain Science Center, told the Greenville News on Nov. 20. "So we really want to be stewards of this beautiful resource that's become iconic for the community, and so we want to do it right so that it'll light up Greenville during the holidays for generations to come."
