A conscious decision to dedicate herself to things that matter - and an Anzac Day epiphany - has led Tahylia Moss to a life-defining decision.

Unlike many of her peers, the Tamworth 15-year-old has already decided on a career path - inspired, in large part, to become an army medic by a nursing strain in her family.

"So I'm really excited for that," she said. "But gotta start training a bit more for it."

Another factor influencing the St Mary's College, Gunnedah year 10 student's decision to leave school at the end of next year was her attendance at Tamworth's Anzac Day service this year.

"And I'm like, 'I wouldn't mind serving and helping people,'" said Tahylia, whose aunt is a nurse and whose elder sister is studying to become one.
