LANSING, Mich. (WNEM) - A man who was connected to the attempted kidnapping of Gov. Gretchen Whitmer has filed to join the Republican primary for governor, according to the Michigan Democratic Party.

Null, his twin brother Michael, and a third man Eric Molitor were found not guilty of providing support for a terrorist act and a weapon charge. They were the last of 14 men to face charges in state or federal court. Nine were convicted and five were cleared.

Michigan Democratic Party Chair Curtis Hertel calls William Null a far-right extremist. In a statement Hertel said:
