Warren — Plans to improve a mile and a half stretch of one of Warren's busiest commercial corridors, Van Dyke Avenue, are moving forward after the City Council this week approved a corridor improvement plan that officials hope will spur more development.
The plan covers Van Dyke from Stephens Road to 8 Mile Road in the southern end of Warren. It includes redoing the road, adding protected bike lanes, repairing sidewalks and other changes, which the city hopes will attract businesses to the corridor and improve pedestrian and bike safety in the area closest to the border with Detroit.
