A man being charged for assault and fleeing the police will appear in 38th Circuit Court on Friday, Dec. 5, at 9 a.m. At a probable cause conference on Thursday, Nov. 20, Robert Gilman, 37, waved his preliminary exam in district court.

Gilman was arrested on Saturday, Nov. 8, by Monroe police officers after reportedly committing several assaults and generally causing a disturbance in Downtown Monroe. He was arraigned on Monday, Nov. 10, with three charges of assaulting/resisting/obstructing a police officer, one charge of assault and battery, and one charge of disorderly person disturbing the peace.
