PARIS -- A January trial is scheduled for a Logan County man arrested earlier this month regarding rape charges for offenses police say involved a child or children.

Mitchell B. Raines, 42, of Paris was arrested Nov. 7 and is charged with three counts of rape, according to Logan County Circuit Court records.

The court docket does not list a plea for Raines.

The charges involve an accuser or accusers under age 14 and with a certain relationship with Raines, according to an arrest warrant in the case.

According to the charges, the conduct occurred between Jan. 1 and July 5, the warrant states.

Further court records in the case are sealed, a circuit court spokeswoman said Thursday.
