HOYTVILLE, Ohio — A Wood County man was killed in a one-vehicle crash Thursday morning in Jackson Township.

William B. Springer, 59, of Weston, Ohio, was northbound on State Rt. 235 south of Hammansburg Road just after 9:30 a.m. when his truck crossed the center line and went off the left side of the road, according to the Wood County Sheriff’s Office.

The truck continued north into a field, only stopping when it struck the embankment for Needles Creek head on, officials said.

Mr. Springer was pronounced dead at the scene. Alcohol is not suspected, and the crash was still under investigation Thursday afternoon.
