KINGSTON, N.Y. — Michele Frazier says she will try again to capture a state Senate seat with a run for the 51st district position.

Frazier, a Democrat from Delhi, said she will run for the seat now occupied by state Sen. Peter Orberacker, a Republican who has decided to challenge U.S. Rep. Josh Riley for the 19th Congressional District seat.

Oberacker defeated Frazier in 2024 for the 51st Senate district seat.

In 2022, Obereacker bested Terry Blosser-Bernardo in a Republican primary. Blosser-Bernardo, a former Ulster County Legislature chairwoman, has also announced a second run for the Senate seat.
