OMAHA, Neb. —
The Lancaster County Sheriff's Office is investigating a deadly crash.
The incident happened on Thursday near 162nd Street and Bluff Road around 9:20 a.m.
According to the sheriff's office, a Lancaster County Engineering Department dump truck was headed south when it hit a westbound Mitsubishi.
The collision shoved the Mitsubishi in the ditch on the southwest side of the intersection.
LCSO said it was foggy out, and they believe the dump truck failed to stop at the stop sign.
The driver of the Mitsubishi was pronounced dead at the scene.
The passenger was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
First responders also took a dog to a nearby veterinarian.
The area of the crash will be closed until deputies and state troopers are finished investigating.
