LEXINGTON, S.C. (WIS) - Former South Carolina state Rep. RJ May is facing more charges after allegedly not paying state income taxes.

The South Carolina Department of Revenue said Thursday that warrants were served on May for three counts of failing to file and pay South Carolina Individual Income Tax.

The latest charges come after May pleaded guilty to federal charges involving child sexual abuse material earlier this year. He is scheduled to be sentenced in January for that case.

Warrants obtained by WIS on Thursday allege that May did not file state individual income tax returns from 2022 to 2024.

Documents state that across all three years, May’s total reported gross income was $323,000. Warrants also allege he still owes the state around $14,640 in taxes.
