An investigation is underway after a Mountain Brook man was found shot to death at hunting property in Talladega County.

Coroner Shaddix Murphy identified the victim as Frank “Wesley” Davies IV.

He was 31 and lived in Mountain Brook but had spent a lot of time at the family’s second home on Odena Road near Sylacauga, Murphy said.

Davies, whose family has owned Little Hardware for generations, was found dead Saturday night in the 1000 block of Odena Road North.

Talladega County Sheriff’s Chief Deputy Josh Tubbs said deputies received a call from the mother of Davies’ child who was concerned because she had not heard from him for several days.

Deputies went to the home to check on Davies and found him dead from multiple gunshot wounds.

No arrests have been made.
