TAYLORSVILLE — A man was arrested Thursday morning after police say he pepper-sprayed his mother and then barricaded himself inside a Taylorsville home.
Lt. Aaron Cheshire with the Taylorsville Police Department said officers were called to the area of 4800 South and 800 West at approximately 7 a.m.
When officers arrived, they found a woman who had been pepper-sprayed by her 23-year-old son, Cheshire said.
Police were unable to get the man to come outside, so the SWAT team was called out.
Cheshire said negotiators spoke with the man, then he eventually surrendered to police around 9:30 a.m. and was taken into custody. The man’s name was not released.
