BRAINERD — Guidelines are in place for low-potency hemp edible retailers in Brainerd.
The Brainerd City Council adopted a new ordinance on Monday, Nov. 17, establishing rules for the practice, which required licensing with the state on Oct. 1.
The registration fee for business is set at the maximum allowed by Minnesota state statute, which allows a government to impose an initial retail registration fee of $500 or up to half the amount of the applicable initial license fee, whichever is less.
The ordinance also provides guidelines for cannabis events, which are allowed with the following rules:
An event organizer must apply for and receive a city permit for a cannabis event before submitting the event form to the Office of Cannabis Management.
