FENTRESS COUNTY, Tenn. (WVLT) - Fentress County Sheriff Michael Reagan has been charged with destruction and tampering with government property, according to Fentress County court records.
Chief Deputy Hunter Fowler released a statement on Facebook Thursday explaining the situation. Fowler said the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation had executed a warrant involving the sheriff.
“Following the legal process, he was booked into the Fentress County Sheriff’s Justice Center in accordance with standard procedure,” Fowler said.
Details of the investigation and what Fowler is accused of doing are scarce. Fowler did say that the office would continue to run, however.
“I want to assure our citizens, that this agency will continue to function at the highest professional standards,” Fowler said. “
