Federal investigators have unveiled shocking photographs of an engine detaching from a doomed UPS cargo plane that crashed a fortnight ago in Kentucky, claiming 14 lives. The images show evidence of fractures in the left wing's engine mount.

A series of six photographs capture the rear of the engine starting to break away before it rises above the wing in a ball of flames . The following image shows the wing being engulfed by fire as the blazing engine soars overhead .
