HOUSTON – ‘Mutual of Omaha’s Wild Kingdom Protecting the Wild’ is the highest-rated weekend animal program on TV. Since the show first started airing in 1963, it has evolved many times. One thing remains the same: Wild Kingdom is all about conservation.
The hosts, Peter Gross and Dr. Rae Wynn-Grant, recently came to the Houston Zoo to film portions of an upcoming episode.
“We both have decades of experience working with wild animals before we joined the show,” said Dr. Rae, who said she’d be doing this type of work whether there were cameras rolling or not.
“I hope the bottom line of what we’re doing is that generations of people watching this will be so moved that their question will be ‘what can I do to help?’ How can I become involved in conservation,” said Peter Gross.
