The family of missing woman Danielle Staley told a local outlet that she is in an “abusive” and “manipulative” relationship with her boyfriend, with whom she was traveling when she vanished.

“It’s been a really off-and-on relationship for like 13 years now and extremely abusive,” April Miller, Staley’s mother, told KSBW.

Frankie Grey, Staley’s brother, said the relationship is “manipulative.”

Staley’s boyfriend, Alx Nunez, denied any involvement in an interview with KSBW.

“I'm not stopping until I find her, and I'm not going anywhere. I'm right here," Nunez said.

The Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Office said that Nunez is cooperating and is not considered a suspect, according to the outlet.
