LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) - A Lake Charles man was arrested after deputies said he stole over $55,000 from a nonprofit he worked for.
Christopher D. Archinard was the Executive Director of Southwest Sickle Cell Anemia, Inc. until he was terminated on July 16, 2021. Shortly after, he took everyone off the nonprofit bank account so only he could access the funds, detectives with the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office said.
Detectives said they were tipped off in 2021 that Archinard was allegedly making payments to himself as well as other unauthorized payments from the nonprofit account between July and August.
He was booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center on theft of over $25,000 Tuesday. Judge Hope Buford set his bond at $250,000.
Archinard won $2 million in the Louisiana Lotter
