The City of Mississauga has voted to remove the Duke of York Boulevard ‘s association with the former Prince Andrew, after allegations of “gender-based violence.”
The allegations stem from the former prince’s ties to sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Mountbatten-Windsor has repeatedly denied the allegations.
On Wednesday, during a council meeting, Mississauga city officials passed a motion led by Deputy Mayor and Ward 4 Coun. John Kovac, to remove associations of Duke of York Boulevard from the former prince, who’s official title is now Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.
In a unanimous vote, council agreed to removing all plaques, honours and noncritical signage tied to the former prince on city grounds, according to a city press release .
An official name change of the street was discussed
