The City of Stirling is considering trialling a range of noise mitigation strategies on its outdoor basketball courts in response to complaints by nearby residents.
These complaints, and debate over how to manage court noise prompted the council in May to request a report from city administration to explore potential solutions.
The report has now returned to council and is recommending Hancock Karabil Reserve in Nollamara be used as a pilot site to trial alternative noise-reduction measures and assess their suitability for other courts on a case-by-case basis.
