CLEVELAND, Ohio — Cuyahoga County is putting money toward two seasonal shelters – including one opening this weekend – to help the area’s homeless stay warm this winter, even as it prepares to slash over $1.5 million from the broader homeless services system next year.
The county announced this week that it’s providing $75,000 each to the Metanoia Project and the Northeast Ohio Coalition for the Homeless (NEOCH) for seasonal shelter operations this winter.
Metanoia, in partnership with Mt. Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church, will open its shelter on Sunday at 11115 Kinsman Road in Cleveland. The site will operate nightly from 6 p.m. to 8 a.m., and typically runs through April, according to its website.
NEOCH plans to open its seasonal shelter in December at 1530 East 19th Stree
