A central Louisiana man found with 102 crappie fish caught at Kincaid Lake has been cited by state wildlife agents, officials said Thursday.
Jerald Tyler, 57, of Clifton, was cited on Nov. 13 for possessing over the limit of crappie and fishing without a basic license, the state Department of Wildlife and Fisheries said in a statement. Kincaid Lake is located in Rapides Parish, west of Alexandria.
The department said agents received a complaint about Tyler taking over the legal limit of crappie, which are also known by the name sac-a-lait and are a highly sought freshwater fish. Agents found Tyler fishing from the bank and in possession of the 102 fish, it said, adding he also did not have the required fishing license.
The legal limit for crappie for the lake is 50 per day, per person.
