ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - Drivers and pedestrians are noticing a series of new black bumps on the Compton Avenue bridge, stretching from Chouteau Avenue to Spruce Street in St. Louis, added to a structure that has already been flagged for its condition.

A marked speed hump was installed on the bridge earlier this year. More recently, 10 additional raised asphalt patches appeared on the roadway. Vehicles are slowing as they drive over them, but it is unclear whether the bumps are meant as speed humps or surface repairs.

First Alert 4 asked the city and Alderwoman Laura Keys, whose ward the bridge is in, to clarify the purpose of the new bumps and to provide an update on any long-term plans for the bridge. As of Wednesday, Keys had not responded, and the city is working to get answe
