A man has had to undergo surgery after he claims he "accidently" got a 8cm by 6cm ceramic cup stuck up his bottom. ‌

The man, who is unnamed but from Taiwan, left hospital staff at Lee General Hospital in shock after they realised the extent of the issue when the full size mug popped up during an X-ray scan. ‌

He initially turned up at the hospital saying he was suffering from abdominal distension for three days and had been struggling with his bowel movements, the Daily Star reports. ‌

Despite the huge job on their hands, doctors quickly acted by trying to remove the cup external, but this was to no avail.

Doctors were then forced to put the man through a major a two-hour operation. The major surgery required the up to be taken out through his intestines.
