A NEW exhibition in Scotland aims to honour the memory of children who have died in Gaza since October 2023, with a calligrapher spending months writing out their names.
Write Their Names will run at the Kirkcudbright Galleries from November 18 to 28, highlighting the human cost of the ongoing genocide. By September of this year, more than 20,000 children had been killed – a figure activists estimate is higher than the current total number of schoolchildren in Dumfries and Galloway.
The exhibition is a collaboration between local group Galloway Friends of MAP (Medical Aid for Palestinians) and the Galleries. It features a series of framed sheets inscribed with the names of hundreds of the children who have died.
