A third recall petition against an MLA from Alberta’s governing United Conservative Party (UCP) has been approved by the province’s chief electoral officer.

Grande Prairie MLA Nolan Dyck on Friday joined education minister and Calgary-Bow MLA Demetrios Nicolaides and Airdrie-East MLA Angela Pitt in facing possible recall.

The petition was launched by Casey Klein, who in her application accused Dyck of not listening to his constituents while also citing his support for the Alberta government’s use of the notwithstanding clause to impose a new contract on striking teachers.

“Nolan is inaccessible to the public, ignoring emails, responding with form letters, and refusing phone calls,” her statement reads.
