Two Louisville natives, with deep family ties to Somerset, are making waves on the Kentucky high school basketball scene. Austin and Chase Sears, grandsons of Larry G. and Paula Sears of Somerset, are continuing the Sears family’s rich athletic tradition at North Oldham High School.
Austin Sears, a sophomore at North Oldham, has already established himself as one of the nation’s top basketball prospects in the Class of 2028. Ranked by ESPN as the number 17 point guard in the country, Austin currently holds offers from Division I programs UT Martin, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, Southeastern Missouri, Eastern Kentucky, Ohio, Morehead State and Hampton.
