BASEHOR, Kan. (KCTV) - The Kansas Bureau of Investigation (KBI) has taken over the case involving a reported shooting between a sheriff’s deputy and a suspect Friday night.
According to KBI, the Leavenworth County Sheriff’s Office was called to the 16900 block of Dempsey Road around 8:45 p.m. on Nov. 21. There, a resident said they were being threatened by a suspect in a white Honda SUV.
When deputies arrived in the area, they found the Honda nearby and tried to initiate a traffic stop, but said the Honda drove away. Deputies reported that shots were fired from the SUV twice, once in the 17000 block of Dempsey Road and again near North 147th and Parallel Road.
