Weedsport girls volleyball has been in the midst of a historic season for the program.
The Wolverines captured their first-ever Section III and regional crowns in the past couple of weeks.
On Saturday, Weedsport played in its first New York State pool play tournament. The Wolverines battled, but Class D competition proved to have a slight edge in the long run.
The Wolverines finished with a 0.5-2.5 record in pool play at the Harding Mazzotti Arena in Glens Falls.
“The girls enjoyed the moment at states,” Weedsport coach Ed Nicklaw said. “It was an exciting way to wrap up the season.”
Weedsport faced Section V’s York in its first match. The Wolverines took the first set at 25-22, but dropped the next two sets (25-18, 15-7).
Section II’s MeKeel Christian handed the Wolverines back-to-b
