A man was shot and killed in Indio, and police said they had detained "persons of interest."

The Indio Police Department said officers responded to a reported shooting in the 83-000 block of Quail Avenue around 2:20 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 20. They found a man with gunshot wounds.

First responders provided medical aid, but he later died from his injuries, the police department said. His name wasn't immediately released.

Police said they detained persons of interest but did not name them and released no other details about the shooting.
