MILTON – Medfield can stop thinking now about its state final loss to Nipmuc from a year ago.
All the thoughts about how last season ended for the Warriors went away Saturday and were replaced with a victory Medfield will remember forever.
Top-seeded Medfield exacted revenge on No. 2 Nipmuc on the same stage and this time came away with the 1-0 decision – the result the Warriors lost by in 2024 – at Curry College’s Katz Field to cap a dominant season by claiming the Division 3 girls soccer state title.
“It was in my mind 24/7, every day, every week,” said Medfield All-American midfielder Sidney Heavey, as it was the Warriors’ first state title since 2012. “Just getting back on the field with this amazing group of girls is unbelievable to do it together.”
