The Des Moines Public Schools board of directors met Friday morning. The members unanimously approved to release a district-funded report on the selection and hiring process that led to Ian Roberts being named in 2023 as the superintendent.

Roberts was arrested on immigration charges on Sept. 26. He resigned days later from his role.

School leaders have said they did not know of any issues with his background check done by Texas firm JG Consulting. The district hired that firm for a national search; Roberts was one of their top candidates.

The district has filed a lawsuit against the search firm.
