In the wake of its dismal performance in the Bihar Assembly elections, the Jan Suraaj Party on Saturday dissolved all its organisational units—from the panchayat level up to the state level—with immediate effect.

The decision was taken at a meeting of the Jan Suraaj National Council held at Sheikhpura House in Patna. In the absence of party president Uday Singh, the meeting was chaired by Bihar state president Manoj Bharti. Party convenor Prashant Kishor was also present.

Jan Suraaj spokesperson Syed Masihuddin said that the party will rebuild its entire organisational structure over the next one-and-a-half months.

Although all existing committees stand dissolved, they will continue to discharge their responsibilities until the new framework is in place.
