WASHINGTON (Gray DC) - A bipartisan group of lawmakers is working to tackle the healthcare affordability crisis, introducing legislation that would extend the expiring Affordable Care Act tax credits with some added guidelines.

It’s called the HOPE Act , a rare showing of bipartisanship from a group of House lawmakers reaching across the aisle to help their constituents.

Their main focus is to begin to tackle the issue of healthcare affordability and extend the Affordable Care Act subsidies set to expire at the end of the year. Without an extension, insurance premiums for millions of Americans could, in some cases, more than double.
