MANHATTAN — Winning the Class B state football championship held so many special layers for the Manhattan Tigers after defeating Three Forks 28-7 on Saturday.

For one, it was the Tigers’ third-straight championship appearance, and their first title since 2020. For another, they got to host it in their own community, with the neighboring community of Three Forks joining them.

But there is another layer to this win in that Manhattan did so with nearly a handful of starters out and a new quarterback at the helm.

Manhattan had its doubters coming into its season, and the Tigers proved them all wrong. The state title was a cherry on top of an undefeated season.
