CHAPEL HILL — Duke football knew it was there.
Down by one point with just more than two minutes remaining, the Blue Devils were facing a fourth-and-3 from the Tar Heels ' 27. They had two options: kick the field goal and go up by two, or run a fake and potentially score a touchdown or set up for one.
They opted with option No. 2.
"I just didn't love, I mean, we're down by one and you kick and you're up by two," head coach Manny Diaz said postgame. "I would rather be winning than losing, but up by two is not great."
