Eight of the top 10 teams in The Associated Press poll either had the day off or were given the gift of a late-season cupcake game in Week 13. No. 6 Oregon and No. 8 Oklahoma were exceptions with ranked conference matchups against USC and Missouri.
The Ducks and Sooners both maintained positioning for an at-large bid. Oregon beat No. 16 USC 42-27 in the teams' first meeting as members of the Big Ten. Oklahoma improved to 9-2 with a 17-6 win against No. 23 Missouri. Oregon ties with Texas Tech at No. 6 in the AP Top 25 and is No. 7 in the College Football Playoff rankings. Oklahoma ranks No. 8 in both.
Other remaining Top 25 games of note include No. 11 BYU's trip to Cincinnati in the Big 12's game of the day and No. 15 Georgia Tech 's outing against Pittsburgh.
