The BJP on Saturday accused West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee of “peddling lies" after she blamed the Election Commission for the death of another Booth Level Officer (BLO) engaged in the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.

BJP IT Cell chief Amit Malviya said Banerjee was “LYING again — twisting facts, misusing your corrupt and pliable administration to plant fake stories, and shedding crocodile tears for BLOs." He said her statements carried “zero credibility until an independent investigation establishes the truth."

Malviya accused the Trinamool Congress government of obstructing the SIR process, which aims to clean up Bengal’s voter rolls.
