HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) - A mud-fest in Wayne County and a massive upset in Bridgeport set the stage for a quarterfinal Saturday in West Virginia high school football. In Class AAA, Spring Valley shutout Robert C. Byrd 28-0 while 9th seeded Chapmanville Regional stopped #1 Bridgeport’s 25 game winning streak with a 33-27 win on the road.
Not to be outdone, Nitro also got a road win at North Marion while Herbert Hoover lost to #2 Princeton.
