Union minister and BJP leader Sukanta Majumdar on Sunday accused the Trinamool Congress (TMC) of opposing the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of West Bengal’s electoral rolls in order to shield what he claimed were “crores of unauthorised voters."
Addressing a large crowd at the BJP’s Parivartan Yatra in Mohanpur, Paschim Medinipur, Majumdar said that the people of Bengal had “already decided to throw out" the Mamata Banerjee-led government. He claimed that the SIR exercise had been “welcomed" by all “bonafide citizens," but was being resisted only by TMC leaders.
